The Aquatex® technology provides a high level of comfort and protection against the elements. As a result of research and development, outdoor wear with boats the Aquatex® membrane can assure you of a high level of waterproofness and breathability. It will protect against light and heavy rain, wild and snow all the while letting your body moisture escape.
Unlike other waterproof constructions, Asystec® Moisture Escape. allows water molecules to seep out where the upper is joined to the body. This patented technology ensures dry feet while keeping water away from the insulation package. Every Asystec® Moisture Escape boot has a "shell-like" bottom. The shell portion is sealed with the sole construction providing waterproof protection. The additional waterproof protection comes from a hanging fabric that attaches below the stitching where the "shell" of the boot meets the upper. This creates a gutter that allows moisture to escape through the seams of the boot.
Cordura® nylon offers a lightweight alternative to leather boots. Cordura nylon is twice as abrasion-resistant as standard footwear nylons. Outdoor enthusiasts have come to trust the rugged lightweight convenience of a Cordura boot. Cordura nylon is a very low maintenance fabric - after use, just wipe the boots down with a damp cloth. Applying an occasional layer of silicone spray will extend the life and help to repel water.
Dura Supple® is made of 42% "air textured-high tenacity nylon fibers" and 58% "non reflective- textured high-tech polyester micro-filament". It is specifically made to work in combination with the Aquatex® membrane.
A deer's sense of smell is estimated to be at least 25 times that of a human's. To combat the deer's keen sense of smell, W.L. Gore and Associates created Gore-Tex® Supprescent. footwear fabric. Supprescent is guaranteed waterproof, breathable and specifically formulated to block human odors giving hunters an unfair advantage over big game. Supprescent differs from any other scent-controlling product on the market. The bicomponent membrane used in Supprescent is engineered to resist the transmission of human odor molecules without having to be regenerated. Once it is stitched to the inside of the boot, it will permanently retain its scent-controlling characteristics.
Manufactured by W.L. Gore and Associates, Gore-Tex® is a highly breathable, waterproof membrane that is stitched to the inside of the boot. The pores in Gore-Tex® fabric allow boots to be completely submerged in water for extended periods of time. The Gore. membrane consists of microscopic pores large enough to allow water vapor (a gas) to escape but much too small to allow water droplets (a liquid) to pass through. To put it simply, Gore-Tex® is guaranteed waterproof and breathable.

Thinsulate. Insulation is a microfiber material that is thin, warm and lightweight. It is one of the lightest and most compact insulations on the market. With the ability to retain heat even when wet, Thinsulate Insulation provides nearly two times the warmth when compared to equal weights of foam or felt insulation. Thinsulate Insulation is an ideal insulation for outdoor boots. Most insulation will break down after heavy use, but Thinsulate Insulation retains its insulating values even after extended wear. Thinsulate Insulation is measured in grams; 200 grams offers the least amount of insulation in footwear, while 1,600 grams is the highest level available in footwear.

The Browning® X-Change System's zip-in liners feature warm, lofty down, soft, lightweight fleeces and scent eliminating Gore-Tex® and Windstopper® fabric. X-Change System shells- most with the waterproof, breathable protection of Gore-Tex® fabric- possess unique features to shield from inclement conditions and meet the unique needs of consumers.

Because of its superior warmth, water repellency amd light weight properties, Primaloft® is the single most thermally-efficient insulation available. When wet, Primaloft® not only out-performs goose down (the only thing to challenge it when dry), but all other synthetics. With its water-hating microscopic fibres, Primaloft® repels water better than any other synthetic insulation. While it is almost as lofty and light weight as down, Primaloft® is also completely hypo-allergenic. Most other synthetics are made of fibres up to 20 times larger than Primaloft®, and just as Primaloft® is micro-fibres trap heat better, they are also much softer than their thicker counterparts.
Made from non-allergenic, 80 percent recycled polyester, Thermolite® Plus consists of a special blend of fibres constructed to trap more air. This blend includes both solid and hollow-core fibres that add warmth without unnecessary weight. The fibres are also flexible to allow freedom of movement. In addition, some MEC products feature more fill in the body of the jacket, and less fill in the arms - so that your mobility isn.t restricted when you.re skiing, snowshoeing, or winter hiking.
