The pores in Gore-Tex® fabric allow boots to be completely submerged in water for extended periods of time. The Gore. membrane consists of microscopic pores large enough to allow water vapor (a gas) to escape but much too small to allow water droplets (a liquid) to pass through. To put it simply, Gore-Tex® is guaranteed waterproof and breathable.$
